 Milton House is about twelve minutes’ walk from Bath city centre, in an area known as Bear Flat, which has a variety of shops and places to eat. Buses 13 and 14 leave from the bus and coach station next to Bath Spa railway station. Bus 14 goes from stand 14 and bus 13 from outside the bus station on Dorchester Street. Ask for Bear Flat, and get off when you reach the top of the hill and see some shops. Walk in the same direction for a further 150 yards (metres). A taxi from Bath railway station to Milton House costs approximately £4.50 - £5.50, depending on the traffic. If walking from City Centre, go via Holloway (a road on the map). Cross the river and keep left. Go under the subway and take the right exit. Stay on the pavement and take the pathway up to the left. This leads to Holloway. Carry on to the top, and when you come to the shops, go straight on for 150 yards. Milton House is on the left. (We don’t recommend walking if you have heavy bags, as Holloway is a steep hill). FROM THE CITY CENTRE: Head for the railway station and turn right when facing it. After 50 yards (metres) turn left and take the bridge over the river Avon. At the roundabout take the second exit signed "A367 Radstock" (Wells Road). After 1/2 mile (0.8 km.), you come to some shops and the road turns sharply to the right. Milton House is about 150 yards (metres) along the road on the left side on the corner of Milton Avenue, next door to New Look Windows. Look for the red post box! FROM OUTSIDE THE CITY: (From the north) Head for the A36 inner ring road which by-passes the city centre on the east and south sides. On reaching the roundabout with the railway viaduct over it, take the exit signed "A367 Exeter / Radstock." (Wells Road). After 1/2 mile (0.8 km.) you come to some shops and the road turns sharply to the right. Milton house is about 150 yards (metres) along the road on the left side on the corner of Milton Avenue, next door to New Look Windows. Look for the red post box! |
